Chosen With Care are recognised experts within the care home sector and tirelessly champion our aim of driving up standards in the industry.
Chosen With Care have more than 12 years’ experience within the care home sector.
Our founder, Debbie Harris, realised there was a complete lack of support for self-funding individuals and their relatives when she had to find a care home for her own aunt. This led to her setting up an online guide, best-care-home.co.uk, which uniquely allowed people to post reviews of their experiences of individual care homes. This feature attracted the interest of other businesses in the sector and best-care-home.co.uk was bought in 2011 by carehome.co.uk, which is now the most comprehensive national database of care homes across the UK and lists nearly 50,000 reviews.
Debbie’s success with best-care-home.co.uk led to word-of-mouth recommendations that she was the person to go to for help finding a care home. The demand for her services led Debbie to set up Chosen With Care, applying her expertise in the sector to guide people through what can otherwise be a traumatic and difficult time. Debbie’s passionate belief that older people should have the best possible care and should be able to live life to the full has consolidated Chosen With Care’s reputation as fearless champions for their clients, helping them to expect – and find – the best, which in turn helps us meet our goal of driving up standards across the industry.
Debbie has been a pioneer within the industry in the past – setting up the care reviews – and is aiming to innovate again with Chosen With Care by providing a bespoke service that assists self-funding families at a time when they really need support. Through her own experience, Debbie realises the importance of having a helping hand through what can be a very difficult time, both emotionally and financially. She appreciates the guilt involved in making the decision to look for a care home for a parent and is there to support you every step of the way, applying her expertise to make sure you make the best choice for you and your family.

The Sunday Times newspaper has today exposed the referral scandal where agents receive huge commissions for referring clients suffering from addictions to companies who want access to those clients. Making this practice public is long overdue. Unfortunately is also prevalent in the care industry. Chosen with Care does not take referral fees from any of the companies that it recommends. ...
